Pastor Wilbert C. Adams

Reverend Wilbert C. Adams and his wife Reverend Pamela are the very proud parents of two sons, Derik and Devon. A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, Reverend Adams is a 1987 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems. In 1999, he received the Masters of Divinity Degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia.

In October 2000, Rev. Adams was called to pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Ivor, Virginia. Under his leadership, several major initiatives were accomplished: establishment of the Men’s, Women’s, Youth, and Praise Dance ministries; reinstatement of Youth Choir and Children’s Church; annual youth revival; quarterly leadership workshops; several renovation projects and purchase of a new church van; establishment of the family life conference; and annual birthday party for Jesus.

In September 2011, Rev. Adams was called to lead the Bethel Baptist Church in Franktown, Virginia. Since his tenure, Bethel has seen increased membership and attendance. The Women’s and Men’s Ministries have been revived and new ministries have begun, including the W.C. Adams Unified Generation choir, the Couples Ministry, and quarterly leadership workshops have been established.

He has led a delegation of Bethel members to minister to families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. He is the former Director of Youth and former Chairman of the Board of Missions of the Eastern Shore of Virginia & Maryland Baptist Association.

Reverend Adams has distinctively served as past Community Day speaker and facilitator for the Northampton County Public Schools, Northampton County NAACP, and the Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore. Pastor Adams is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
